Ege Deniz was slow to take the kick. During this time Internacional's players had a chance to rest. Ysmael Abad received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Jerry Van Hespen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.

Geronimo Rulli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fjölnir Bergsson in the 67th minute of the match. In the 78th minute, Carter Di Fazio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Internacional made a substitution. Rafael Abarca replaced Etxahun Abastas. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carter Di Fazio in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jerry Van Hespen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 84 minutes into the match, La Mandarina Mecánica's goal looked a bit too open when Laércio de Andrade came free, but Jerry Van Hespen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Laércio de Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
