When Román Hoefler fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Curicó-Unido's protests and gave Román Hoefler a yellow card for diving instead. In the 93rd minute, Román Hoefler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Paquisa FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Curicó-Unido were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
