The tension between the Paratuba and the Praia players grew even worse after the yellow card. Danilo Medeiros charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Danilo Medeiros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Danilo Medeiros kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Frank Hermes struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Adelino Silva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paratuba. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Décio Garcia in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adelino Silva saved Praia from getting behind. Décio Garcia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adelino Silva having to interfere. 28 minutes in the game, Cafu Prestes fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Fábio de Amorim having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Paratuba's Danilo Medeiros got a free kick in the 32nd minute. If Flavinho Alagoano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Décio Garcia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Adelino Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Frank Hermes made the kick off in the second half. Fábio de Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Natã Quirino, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Décio Garcia scored 2-1 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Adelino Silva, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 63 minutes, Flavinho Alagoano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Praia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Flavinho Alagoano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Flavinho Alagoano took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fábio de Amorim. Cafu Prestes scored 4-1 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fábio de Amorim, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 96th minute Kryspin Smuskiewicz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fábio de Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Hermes in the 97th minute of play forced Praia's goalkeeper Adelino Silva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. There was no doubt that Praia were the better team. Praia's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
