The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 14 minutes into the match, Renatinho Monteiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adhemar Velasco. Horizon FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Renatinho Monteiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Renatinho Monteiro in the 23rd minute of play forced Horizon FC's goalkeeper Adhemar Velasco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alessandro Bueno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Adhemar Velasco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Horizon FC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Adhemar Velasco was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Renatinho Monteiro was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Firmiano SS's goal looked a bit too open when Beto Sabóia came free, but João de Andrade reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Firmiano SS's João de Andrade played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henrique Figueiredo in the 52nd minute of play. Adhemar Velasco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albertino Melo, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. The supporters of Firmiano SS booed when Horizon FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuel Pinheiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aílton Vasconcelos's late challenge caught a Firmiano SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Firmiano SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Albertino Melo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adhemar Velasco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Horizon FC's Adhemar Velasco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Horizon FC from getting a goal against them. In the 88th minute Marcus Passos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João de Andrade saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Horizon FC getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Aílton Vasconcelos hit a great ball. When the match was over Firmiano SS could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Horizon FC throughout the match.
