João Augusto Damião fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tadeu Senna having to interfere. William Perez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afonsinho Alvarenga in the 20th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Fernandes in the 26th minute of play forced Catalao's goalkeeper William Perez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If João Augusto Damião had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 31 minutes into the game, Oséas Moreno was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Catalao's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pirangucu EC the free kick. In the 31st minute, Oséas Moreno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Serginho Tande succeeded in the game's 32nd minute to get real power on a long shot . Catalao's William Perez hadn't the time to block the shot which was pasted into the goal, 0-2! An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonsinho Alvarenga in the 36th minute of play forced Catalao's goalkeeper William Perez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Catalao's João Augusto Damião sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tadeu Senna narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 39 minutes into the match, Catalao's goal looked a bit too open when Afonsinho Alvarenga came free, but William Perez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when João Augusto Damião stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Francisco Fernandes kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. William Perez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afonsinho Alvarenga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulo José Sena scored 1-3 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tadeu Senna, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Oséas Moreno might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tadeu Senna. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Oséas Moreno ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Pirangucu EC's Emílio Munhoz got a free kick in the 66th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when José Maria Goiano got free with William Perez in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. João Augusto Damião struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Tadeu Senna didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Catalao. Tadeu Senna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Augusto Damião in the 82nd minute of the match. Paulo José Sena struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Tadeu Senna didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Catalao. In the 89th minute, Paulo José Sena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 91 minutes into the match, José Maria Goiano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of William Perez. Catalao's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that José Maria Goiano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4.
