It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Amauri Quirino kicked off to start the match. When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Manoel Dante sped through Catalao's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of William Perez. In the 9th minute Amauri Quirino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William Perez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 10 minutes into the game, Manoel Dante cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. William Perez was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 15 minutes into the match, Amauri Quirino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of William Perez. Catalao's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Amauri Quirino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amauri Quirino in the 18th minute of play forced Catalao's goalkeeper William Perez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. William Perez made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Nelson Brodel sent off a good shot on target. William Perez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amauri Quirino, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Carlos Alvarenga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but William Perez made a huge save.
