The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Carioca EC's Elias de Moraes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Carioca EC from getting a goal against them. If Sydney Zanette had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Afonso Sanches fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elias de Moraes having to interfere. Ivo Berger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sydney Zanette fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hélio Félix having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Doni Prata in the 27th minute of play forced Carioca EC's goalkeeper Elias de Moraes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luiz Freitas kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Afonso Sanches could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Elias de Moraes made a huge save. Hélio Félix took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivo Berger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. David Veiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in ✦ Mr. Anonymous Team ✦'s zone, Ivo Berger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hélio Félix came out of the goal and Ivo Berger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 37thth minute of the game Ivo Berger who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ✦ Mr. Anonymous Team ✦'s Hélio Félix was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Sydney Zanette had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th minute of the match, Afonso Sanches got a very nice opportunity to score, but Elias de Moraes was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When Dênis Mazza fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ✦ Mr. Anonymous Team ✦'s protests and gave Dênis Mazza a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Carioca EC booed when ✦ Mr. Anonymous Team ✦ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dênis Mazza didn't get a good kick on the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

After 51 minutes, Doni Prata made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Carioca EC's Elias de Moraes tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Jonas Ceresso hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Sydney Zanette sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dino Magalhães struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Hélio Félix didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carioca EC. Lenílson Campidelis charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lenílson Campidelis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, ✦ Mr. Anonymous Team ✦'s Lenílson Campidelis got a free kick in the 67th minute. In the 78thth minute of the game Ivo Berger who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ✦ Mr. Anonymous Team ✦'s Hélio Félix was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 81st minute, Hermínio Ferreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 85 minutes into the match, ✦ Mr. Anonymous Team ✦'s goalkeeper Hélio Félix had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ivo Berger. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, David Veiga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carioca EC's supporters rose to their feet, but David Veiga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hélio Félix breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sydney Zanette fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hélio Félix having to interfere. Zézinho Cardoso hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. ✦ Mr. Anonymous Team ✦ were victorious despite being under pressure from Carioca EC for much of the match.
