Spectators: 6445 (Terracing: 5445, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Vivaldo Schmidt kicked off to start the match. If Edgard Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edgard Maranhenses short, quick shot in the 9thth minute got Jaime Souza to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Edgard Maranhense put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jaime Souza. After a defensive mix-up in DIAMONDS's zone, Edmílson Novaes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mathias Guimarães came out of the goal and Edmílson Novaes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. DIAMONDS's Mathias Guimarães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Paulo Velasco in the 14th minute of play. Vivaldo Schmidt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 24th minute, Edmílson Novaes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Angai fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edgard Maranhense got free with Jaime Souza in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vivaldo Schmidt might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jaime Souza. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vivaldo Schmidt ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, DIAMONDS's Richard Vieira got a free kick in the 33rd minute. 34 minutes into the match, Angai's Gil Berger broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. João Paulo Velasco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mathias Guimarães having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. João Paulo Velasco was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmílson Novaes got free with Mathias Guimarães in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mathias Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Paulo Velasco in the 52nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, DIAMONDS's Richard Vieira got a free kick in the 53rd minute. With his leg Mathias Guimarães managed to avoid a goal in the 56thth minute, when Angai's Edmílson Novaes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. João Paulo Velasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jaime Souza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Fernando Cerezo in the 67th minute of the match. In the 76th minute, Edmílson Novaes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mathias Guimarães was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. The audience was convinced that João Paulo Velasco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mathias Guimarães was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in DIAMONDS's zone, Edmílson Novaes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Angai's João Paulo Velasco got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 88th minute, one of DIAMONDS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for DIAMONDS. Mathias Guimarães went to the wrong direction when Gil Berger was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. DIAMONDS's defense didn't have a chance, in the 96th minute, when João Paulo Velasco scored to the left of an out of position Mathias Guimarães, making the score, 1-4. The Angai supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Angai would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
