Flavinho Arantes kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Rubens Lira might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gilmar de Amaral. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rubens Lira ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 12th match minute, Tinguis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Carlos do Vale to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Osvaldo Peixoto in the 13th minute really tested Jorginho Proença's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 14th minute Rubens Lira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilmar de Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alex Reis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Alex Reis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilmar de Amaral having to interfere. 19 minutes into the match, Osório FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rubens Lira came free, but Gilmar de Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Osório FC's Murillo Loyola got a free kick in the 20th minute. Gilmar de Amaral didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rubens Lira went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alex Reis in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilmar de Amaral saved Osório FC from getting behind. Jorginho Proença showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geovanni Velasco, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. When Alex Reis came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Tinguis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alex Reis couldn't finish the play. Cafu Tepedino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorginho Proença having to interfere. If Alex Reis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Tinguis were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

52 minutes into the game, Tinguis's Rubens Lira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gilmar de Amaral made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Gilmar de Amaral was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Clóvis Machado. Through an outstanding action, after 63 minutes, Gilmar de Amaral successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 68 played minutes, Tinguis's Fiori Correia shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gilmar de Amaral came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tinguis reached it. 70 minutes into the match, Cafu Tepedino notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Tinguis's Jorginho Proença. Jorginho Proença was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Rubens Lira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Gilmar de Amaral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Geovanni Velasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Jonathan Albuquerque fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Osório FC's protests and gave Jonathan Albuquerque a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Osório FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 85th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Gilmar de Amaral, was totally fooled by Tinguis's Fiori Correia, who 86 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. An unexpected shot in the 90th minute by Rubens Lira got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Cafu Tepedino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Jorginho Proença tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rubens Lira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Alex Reis came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Tinguis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alex Reis couldn't finish the play. When the match was over Tinguis could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Osório FC throughout the match.
