When the match clock showed 6 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Perivaldo Aparecido sped through SC CORINTHIANS's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Clemente Senna. In the 10th match minute, Guerreiros FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Penha to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Agnaldo Fontes managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC CORINTHIANS's supporters rose to their feet, but Agnaldo Fontes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Natanael Tavares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Clemente Senna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donato de Senna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute Jarbas Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Natanael Tavares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Guerreiros FC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Cristiano Ferraz hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Agnaldo Fontes put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Natanael Tavares. The crowd rose to their feet as Perivaldo Aparecido kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Clemente Senna. That made the score 2-1 in the 27 minute of play. Donato de Senna struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Clemente Senna didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guerreiros FC. SC CORINTHIANS's Clemente Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donato de Senna in the 43rd minute of play. Eusébio de Brito recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

54 minutes into the match, SC CORINTHIANS's goal looked a bit too open when Donato de Senna came free, but Clemente Senna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Róbson Gomes kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Perivaldo Aparecido in the 61st minute of play forced SC CORINTHIANS's goalkeeper Clemente Senna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Agnaldo Fontes in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Natanael Tavares saved Guerreiros FC from getting behind. After some careless play in the SC CORINTHIANS defense, Donato de Senna kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Clemente Senna. The SC CORINTHIANS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Clemente Senna should have stopped the shot. 75 minutes into the game, Zé Augusto Negri was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC CORINTHIANS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guerreiros FC the free kick. Zé Augusto Negri hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Beto Peres, 76 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. When Ulisses Azevedo came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Guerreiros FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ulisses Azevedo couldn't finish the play. 92 minutes into the match, Guerreiros FC's Donato de Senna sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Clemente Senna narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Clemente Senna didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Perivaldo Aparecido went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. Guerreiros FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
