In the 13th minute, Doni de Sena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 17 played minutes Carnaubal SS got a freekick which was hit by José Maria Custódio. The audience was convinced that Diogo Baptista's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Beto de Medeiros was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. The long shot by Teodoro Galvão in the 25th minute really tested Beto de Medeiros's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Beto de Medeiros came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Corinthians's Diogo Baptista. But to his dismay, Diogo Baptista quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Giovani de Azevedo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sandrinho Carvalho went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. A collision led to Carnaubal SS getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Tony Sá hit a great ball. Beto de Medeiros stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Diogo Baptista's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. If Telmo Tinoco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Diogo Baptista to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Corinthians's Diogo Baptista sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Beto de Medeiros narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Diogo Baptista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Beto de Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Carnaubal SS's Giovani de Azevedo threw himself towards the right post 68 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Sandrinho Carvalho, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 70 minutes into the game, Corinthians's Diogo Baptista nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Beto de Medeiros made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Beto de Medeiros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tião Guimarães in the 75th minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Diogo Baptista had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Beto de Medeiros. Carnaubal SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Diogo Baptista was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. Teodoro Galvão took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 81st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Beto de Medeiros. Carnaubal SS's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Beto de Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diogo Baptista, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Tião Guimarães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
