Spectators: 7231 (Terracing: 5425, Seating: 1663, VIP seats: 143) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Zumar Granja kicked off to start the match. Frédson Velasco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dé Neiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. In the 5th minute Dé Neiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frédson Velasco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Cristóvão Arce came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Laranjeiras FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristóvão Arce couldn't finish the play. In the 11th minute Cristóvão Arce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frédson Velasco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dé Neiva during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Laranjeiras FC's Dé Neiva got a free kick in the 12th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristóvão Arce in the 14th minute of play forced Digão SC's goalkeeper Frédson Velasco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zumar Granja recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 20 minutes into the match, Digão SC's goal looked a bit too open when Baltazar Esteves came free, but Frédson Velasco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Frédson Velasco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristóvão Arce in the 22nd minute of the match. Frédson Velasco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manfredo Barreto in the 25th minute of play. Fred Melo hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. In the 33rd match minute, Digão SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cláudio Valladares to maneuver through the defense. Zumar Granja sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 37 minutes, Aloísio Severo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Digão SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aloísio Severo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 39 minutes into the match, Aloísio Severo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Geraldo da Silveira. Laranjeiras FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aloísio Severo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After 45 played minutes Laranjeiras FC got a freekick which was hit by Jerônimo Hermes. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dé Neiva to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Zumar Granja managed to get in a good position for a shot. Digão SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Zumar Granja was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Geraldo da Silveira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fred Melo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geraldo da Silveira having to interfere. Zumar Granja received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Geraldo da Silveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Laranjeiras FC's zone, Aloísio Severo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Geraldo da Silveira came out of the goal and Aloísio Severo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Aloísio Severo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zumar Granja recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Geraldo da Silveira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Digão SC's Zumar Granja got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Digão SC had played much better football throughout.
