Rodolfo Paulista had several of the Barcelona de Itaquá FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 36 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. In the 46th minute of the match, Fábio Castro got a very nice opportunity to score, but Thiago Nistelrooy was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Rodolfo Paulista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thiago Nistelrooy having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The supporters of Barcelona de Itaquá FC booed when Blaze of Glory F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Charles Valadares didn't get a good kick on the ball. 55 minutes into the game, Francisco Aguiar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Roberto Queirós was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Rodolfo Paulista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 69 minutes into the match, Blaze of Glory F.C.'s goalkeeper Roberto Queirós had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luís Paulo Machado. After a defensive mix-up in Barcelona de Itaquá FC's zone, Marcel de Almeida stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thiago Nistelrooy came out of the goal and Marcel de Almeida tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Blaze of Glory F.C. lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
