Spectators: 7526 (Terracing: 5645, Seating: 1731, VIP seats: 150) Confiança FC's Tarcisio Silva started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tarcisio Silva took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eliézer Velasco. Eliézer Velasco dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Washington Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mário Lago in the 9th minute of play. Eliézer Velasco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomaž Silva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Washington Amaral didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Osvaldinho de Andrade went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. A long shot from Adilson Esteves in the 20th minute of play was well struck, but Washington Amaral made a really good save at the right post. Washington Amaral made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Vicente da Silva sent off a good shot on target. Eliézer Velasco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomaž Silva, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. When Gustavo de Senna came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Confiança FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustavo de Senna couldn't finish the play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 40 minutes into the game, when Dudu Vianna put in a rough tackle. A collision led to Old Glory getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Dudu Vianna hit a great ball. The supporters of Confiança FC booed when Old Glory was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giovanni Peixoto didn't get a good kick on the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Eliézer Velasco came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Confiança FC's Tarcisio Silva. But to his dismay, Tarcisio Silva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Old Glory's Eliézer Velasco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tarcisio Silva in the 57th minute of play. Eliézer Velasco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomaž Silva in the 58th minute of the match. Eliézer Velasco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomaž Silva in the 60th minute. Diguinho Bertassi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Confiança FC's Washington Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mário Lago in the 64th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Osvaldinho de Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot. Old Glory's supporters rose to their feet, but Osvaldinho de Andrade was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Washington Amaral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Fabrício Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute, Adilson Esteves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Leonel Tande made in the 74th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Gustavo Souza however managed to control. 76 minutes into the match, Tomaž Silva dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Eliézer Velasco, 1-3. Tarcisio Silva could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Eliézer Velasco made a huge save. Tomaž Silva hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. A collision led to Old Glory getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Adilson Esteves hit a great ball. Eliézer Velasco was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Tomaž Silva. 86 minutes into the match, Old Glory's goal looked a bit too open when Tarcisio Silva came free, but Eliézer Velasco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Confiança FC booed when Old Glory was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Eduardo Arósio didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Confiança FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
