Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Otávio Trancoso started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, Laguinho's Olívio Soares got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Laguinho's Luiz Gustavo de Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Barreto in the 6th minute of play. 8 minutes had been played when some careless play by Laguinho's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Oséas Leme was slow to take the kick. During this time Divinopolis's players had a chance to rest. Divinopolis's Oséas Leme was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Luiz Gustavo de Souza in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Tadeu Cearense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emerson Oliveira in the 10th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Divinopolis's Yan Domingues got a free kick in the 12th minute. In the 12th minute of the match Olívio Soares sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tadeu Cearense skillfully saved the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Divinopolis's Gustavo Barreto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luiz Gustavo de Souza narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Divinopolis's Daniel Queiroz got a free kick in the 20th minute. Olívio Soares, 21 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Rômulo Moura managed to get in a good position for a shot. Laguinho's supporters rose to their feet, but Rômulo Moura was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tadeu Cearense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Yan Domingues charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Yan Domingues the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 26 played minutes Divinopolis got a freekick which was hit by Yan Domingues. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rômulo Moura in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tadeu Cearense saved Divinopolis from getting behind. 35 minutes into the match, Otávio Trancoso notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Laguinho's Luiz Gustavo de Souza. Luiz Gustavo de Souza was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Otávio Trancoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 41 minutes into the game, Rômulo Moura recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Tadeu Cearense. Rômulo Moura showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Pedrão Barbosa hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Divinopolis's Oséas Leme couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 45th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Laguinho.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rômulo Moura to make the kick off. Laguinho's Luiz Gustavo de Souza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Laguinho from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Laguinho's zone, Otávio Trancoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Gustavo de Souza came out of the goal and Otávio Trancoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Teodoro Recife during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Divinopolis booed when Laguinho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teodoro Recife didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gustavo Barreto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Gustavo de Souza having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Laguinho's Teodoro Recife got a free kick in the 69th minute. After a rather tough play, Divinopolis's Marcelinho Abreu got a free kick in the 71st minute. Divinopolis's Tadeu Cearense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agnaldo Fernandez in the 76th minute of play. Agnaldo Fernandez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Tadeu Cearense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tadeu Cearense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rômulo Moura in the 83rd minute of the match. After 84 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Divinopolis! The referee gave Laguinho a penalty, 87 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Olívio Soares, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Divinopolis's Tadeu Cearense. 2-1. In the 93rd minute, Emerson Oliveira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Otávio Trancoso's late challenge caught a Laguinho's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Otávio Trancoso helped the player get up and apologised. After 94 played minutes Divinopolis got a freekick which was hit by Otávio Trancoso. Rômulo Moura might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tadeu Cearense. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rômulo Moura ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 99th minute Rômulo Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tadeu Cearense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Laguinho had won after a very even match.
