In the 22nd minute, Agnaldo Fernandez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Enrique Freire was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Teodoro Recife kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Enrique Freire showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rômulo Moura in the 37th minute of the match. 39 minutes into the match, Laguinho's Rômulo Moura sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Enrique Freire narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Rômulo Moura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rômulo Moura made a kick off. Agnaldo Fernandez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrique Freire having to interfere. Perseveranca's Pedro Branco got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Laguinho's Emerson Oliveira got a free kick in the 55th minute. Pedro Branco struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Luiz Gustavo de Souza didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Perseveranca. After having played for 60 minutes, Rômulo Moura managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Laguinho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rômulo Moura was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 63rdth minute of the game Rômulo Moura who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Perseveranca's Enrique Freire was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jano Félix during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 64 played minutes Perseveranca got a freekick which was hit by Jano Félix. Víktor Valle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Enrique Freire showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emerson Oliveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Perseveranca's Enrique Freire played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rômulo Moura in the 84th minute of play. Laguinho were awarded a corner in the 86th minute after Perseveranca's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Olívio Soares took the corner. Olívio Soares made a great header on Laguinho's corner, it was just that Perseveranca's Enrique Freire managed to reach the ball for a save. If Rômulo Moura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laguinho's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Víktor Valle 96 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Laguinho had won after a very even match.
