Raí Lima kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Atibaia City FC's Zé Paulo da Rocha got a free kick in the 39th minute. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Antônio Carlos Vides tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
