Recife Futebol Club's Pedro Paulo Zonta got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dino Ramos took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 89th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Leandro de Amaral. Teresina FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 94 minutes, José Maria Secco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Recife Futebol Club and the Teresina FC players grew even worse after the yellow card.
