When Marcelo Txanton came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Porongos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcelo Txanton couldn't finish the play. Teodoro Nicholas lost his temper 27 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 27 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Porongos! Christiano Castro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Natanael dos Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Christiano Castro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erik Montenegro in the 38th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Porongos's Walter-Adrián Samuel got a free kick in the 39th minute. The Porongos players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Sobral F.C. were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alfredo Calvino was the one to do the kick off. If Erik Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Porongos getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Rony Mota hit a great ball. Through an outstanding action, after 72 minutes, Christiano Castro successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Christiano Castro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Natanael dos Santos in the 73rd minute. Enrique Genova struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Arnaldo Ceresso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Porongos. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonathan de Alcântara in the 81st minute of play forced Porongos's goalkeeper Christiano Castro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Alfredo Calvino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Sobral F.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Sobral F.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
