Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Carlos Fernando Motta took the kick off in the first half of the match. Basu EC's Gil Prata got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Ademar Rossi fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ibuaco's protests and gave Ademar Rossi a yellow card for diving instead. In the 16th minute, Ademar Rossi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hortêncio Catarinense in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Juninho Tróia saved Ibuaco from getting behind. Gil Prata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juninho Tróia having to interfere. In the 24th minute, Marcelo Lucas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 28th minute, Gil Prata ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Juninho Tróia was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. When the match clock showed 31 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Hortêncio Catarinense sped through Ibuaco's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Juninho Tróia. Juninho Tróia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hortêncio Catarinense in the 35th minute of play. Marcelo Lucas charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcelo Lucas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Marcelo Lucas hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Juninho Tróia came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Basu EC's Hortêncio Catarinense. But to his dismay, Hortêncio Catarinense quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hortêncio Catarinense stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fabrício Barros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ademar Rossi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 53rd minute, Gil Prata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The throw-in from Umberto Godoi in the 56th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Basu EC's Amadeu Dante. The audience was convinced that Hortêncio Catarinense's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Juninho Tróia was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. In the 61st minute, Raphael Negri left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ibuaco fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Basu EC's Fabrício Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ademar Rossi in the 64th minute of play. Gil Prata hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Amadeu Dante kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Falcão de Toledo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 70th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fabrício Barros. Basu EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Álvaro da Fonseca in the 72nd minute of play forced Basu EC's goalkeeper Fabrício Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabrício Barros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Fernando Motta, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. In the 76th minute, Raphael Negri left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ibuaco fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. In the 92nd minute Raphael Negri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabrício Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 96 minutes of play, Ibuaco's Marcelo Lucas made it 3-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fabrício Barros was left in no man's land by his defense there! The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
