Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) CRUZEIRO S.A's Durval Neiva started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute, Fábio Rodrigues left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Foz do Iguaçu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Durval Neiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Raimundo Xavier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Durval Neiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Raimundo Xavier was out of position in the 12 minute of play, and Marcos Couto capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Marcos Couto really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Fábio Rodrigues kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. In the 17th minute, Silvinho Pires got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 20th minute Umberto Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cacá Prata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 24 minutes of play, CRUZEIRO S.A's Marcos Couto made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Raimundo Xavier was left in no man's land by his defense there! 28 minutes in the game, Durval Neiva fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Raimundo Xavier having to interfere. Cacá Prata stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Umberto Santos's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. In the 32nd minute Fábio Rodrigues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cacá Prata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cacá Prata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Umberto Santos, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Umberto Santos in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cacá Prata saved CRUZEIRO S.A from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nico de Mendonça during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 41 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for CRUZEIRO S.A! Cacá Prata came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by Foz do Iguaçu's Fábio Rodrigues. But to his dismay, Fábio Rodrigues quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anderson Arósio during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Foz do Iguaçu made a substitution. Donato de Queiroz replaced Silvinho Pires. A collision led to CRUZEIRO S.A getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Anderson Arósio hit a great ball. 48 minutes into the game, Umberto Santos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Cacá Prata was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Disappointed in the 2-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Fábio Rodrigues made the kick off in the second half. If Umberto Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dalmo Schmidt charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dalmo Schmidt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dalmo Schmidt hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. In the 60th minute, Dalmo Schmidt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Raimundo Xavier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dalmo Schmidt in the 62nd minute of play. In the 64th minute Umberto Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cacá Prata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Umberto Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 68th minute, Umberto Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Raimundo Xavier came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by CRUZEIRO S.A's Durval Neiva. But to his dismay, Durval Neiva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. 76 minutes in the game Nico de Mendonça did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Dalmo Schmidt. The throw-in from Valdemar Vargas in the 83rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Foz do Iguaçu's Donato de Queiroz. If Fábio Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Umberto Santos came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Foz do Iguaçu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Umberto Santos couldn't finish the play. After 97 played minutes Foz do Iguaçu got a freekick which was hit by Tales Tróia.
