Adilson Lara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Fabiano Romero, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Remo Coutinho in the 22nd minute of play forced Cachoeiro - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Adilson Lara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tião Paes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Gui Joinvilense made a huge save. 26 minutes into the game, José Passos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. DUCK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cachoeiro - FSCMZ the free kick. The supporters of Cachoeiro - FSCMZ booed when DUCK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Passos didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Pedro Borges kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gui Joinvilense. That made the score 1-1 in the 37 minute of play. After 41 played minutes DUCK got a freekick which was hit by José Passos. DUCK's Gui Joinvilense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save DUCK from getting a goal against them. Gui Joinvilense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christian Machado in the 48th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Christian Machado stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Benjamin Mazza might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gui Joinvilense. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Remo Coutinho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Gui Joinvilense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tião Paes in the 89th minute of play. Luiz Fabiano Romero could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Adilson Lara made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Christian Machado in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gui Joinvilense saved DUCK from getting behind. Gui Joinvilense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christian Machado in the 93rd minute of play. When Giovani Massa fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cachoeiro - FSCMZ's protests and gave Giovani Massa a yellow card for diving instead.
