Spectators: 7506 (Terracing: 5630, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Váldson Melo started the match with the kick off. David Ribeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mazinho de Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. David Ribeiro came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Era's Mazinho de Alcântara. But to his dismay, Mazinho de Alcântara quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Oséas Camargo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Egídio Donato in the 8th minute of the match. Váldson Melo took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised David Ribeiro. David Ribeiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 13th minute Egídio Donato shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oséas Camargo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. David Ribeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mazinho de Alcântara in the 16th minute of play. Oséas Camargo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jacinto Neiva hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. When Váldson Melo came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Era fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Váldson Melo couldn't finish the play. Diego Neves kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. The attack was good, but when Váldson Melo in the 44th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. In the 45th match minute, E.C 2 Janeiro RS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lauro Neto to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Egídio Donato to make the kick off. David Ribeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Váldson Melo, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. The audience was convinced that Egídio Donato's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Oséas Camargo was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. If Mazinho de Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. E.C 2 Janeiro RS's defense didn't have a chance, in the 65th minute, when Váldson Melo scored to the left of an out of position David Ribeiro, making the score, 0-3. Mazinho de Alcântara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Váldson Melo got free with David Ribeiro in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 74th minute, Mazinho de Alcântara got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Váldson Melo was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 76th minute. Era's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The supporters of Era booed when E.C 2 Janeiro RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lauro Neto didn't get a good kick on the ball. 79 minutes into the match, Era's Ediberto Linares broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 82 minutes into the match, E.C 2 Janeiro RS's goalkeeper David Ribeiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mazinho de Alcântara. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind E.C 2 Janeiro RS's goalkeeper David Ribeiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, E.C 2 Janeiro RS's David Ribeiro got control of the ball when Mazinho de Alcântara tried to sneak it across the goal line. David Ribeiro stood somewhat misplaced when Mazinho de Alcântara came free in front of goal and shot 0-4 to the left of him in the 90 minute. When the match was over Era could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than E.C 2 Janeiro RS throughout the match.
