The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aloísio Nascimento during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 3 played minutes Felipe EC got a freekick which was hit by Aloísio Nascimento. Caio Miranda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ademir Falcão in the 11th minute of play. In the 13th minute, Alex da Silva reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Caio Miranda. The goal made the score 1-0. A collision led to Rendenção EC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Sebastião Mangueira hit a great ball. Mané Saraiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caio Miranda having to interfere. Mané Saraiva who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of Caio Miranda when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 24th minute, Mané Saraiva ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Caio Miranda was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Arlindo Aguiar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aloísio Nascimento, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Arlindo Aguiar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nestor da Costa in the 30th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Rendenção EC defense, Jardel Dante kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arlindo Aguiar. The Rendenção EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arlindo Aguiar should have stopped the shot. Caio Miranda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex da Silva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Felipe EC's Caio Miranda got control of the ball when Luís Fabiano Saldanha tried to sneak it across the goal line. Felipe EC were furious when Bernardo Dracena was red carded, 40 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 40th minute, one of Felipe EC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Felipe EC. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

Nestor da Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Arlindo Aguiar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arlindo Aguiar didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nestor da Costa went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Caio Miranda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Fabiano Saldanha in the 60th minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, Felipe EC's goal looked a bit too open when Alex da Silva came free, but Caio Miranda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Haroldo Tasso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arlindo Aguiar having to interfere. Sebastião Mangueira's late challenge caught a Felipe EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sebastião Mangueira helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Rendenção EC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Sebastião Mangueira hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ademir Falcão in the 70th minute of play forced Felipe EC's goalkeeper Caio Miranda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 71 minutes, Luís Fabiano Saldanha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rendenção EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Fabiano Saldanha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Haroldo Tasso kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Mané Saraiva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Caio Miranda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex da Silva in the 82nd minute of play. Caio Miranda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luís Fabiano Saldanha in the 83rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Rendenção EC's zone, Aloísio Nascimento stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arlindo Aguiar came out of the goal and Aloísio Nascimento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nestor da Costa struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Arlindo Aguiar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Felipe EC. In the 98th minute Luís Fabiano Saldanha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caio Miranda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rendenção EC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
