C.A.Guimarães's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Refik Halit Süngü in the 22nd minute. When Laerte Luz, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 23 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Mustapha Cron was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After 27 played minutes C.A.Guimarães got a freekick which was hit by Refik Halit Süngü. Sílvio Couto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorge Antunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. A hard shot by Jorge Antunes from long distance, 75 minutes into the match, got Sílvio Couto's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side.
