The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Iustin Bungeanu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mustapha Cron was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Remy Sanderson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palmeiras's supporters rose to their feet, but Remy Sanderson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mustapha Cron breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iustin Bungeanu in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mustapha Cron prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kléberson Neiva charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kléberson Neiva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A hard shot 14 in the game by Guga Alvarenga from a close distance when the talented Régis de Queirós managed to make a qualified save. Palmeiras's players were relieved. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iustin Bungeanu couldn't finish the play. 19 minutes into the match, Os Predadores FC's goal looked a bit too open when Iustin Bungeanu came free, but Mustapha Cron reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 20 minutes had been played when some careless play by Os Predadores FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tarcisio Reis was slow to take the kick. During this time Palmeiras's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Palmeiras's Tarcisio Reis to fire away a dangerous shot which Mustapha Cron despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Remy Sanderson in the 29th minute of play forced Os Predadores FC's goalkeeper Mustapha Cron to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Os Predadores FC's Raúl Vides got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match clock showed 34 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Iustin Bungeanu sped through Os Predadores FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Mustapha Cron. In the 42nd minute of the match, Jorge Antunes tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Régis de Queirós saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 46 played minutes Palmeiras got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Fabiano Passos. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Iustin Bungeanu was the one to do the kick off. Mustapha Cron took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iustin Bungeanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th minute Guga Alvarenga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Régis de Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iustin Bungeanu did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-2 to the left of a surprised Mustapha Cron 68 minutes into the match. Palmeiras's Wesley Fantini was substituted for Iustin Bungeanu. Os Predadores FC's Mustapha Cron played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remy Sanderson in the 73rd minute of play. In the 74th minute Palmeiras were awarded a corner. Tarcisio Reis went to the cornerflag to take it. Wesley Fantini might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mustapha Cron. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mustapha Cron showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wesley Fantini in the 87th minute of the match. A collision led to Palmeiras getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Kléberson Neiva hit a great ball. If Wesley Fantini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mustapha Cron showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wesley Fantini in the 97th minute of the match. When the match was over Palmeiras could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Os Predadores FC throughout the match.
