In the 19th match minute, Ponte de Safena was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Augusto Marinho to maneuver through the defense. 20 minutes into the match, Guilherme Marquez dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Luís Gustavo Fernandes, 1-0. Luís Gustavo Fernandes came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Superação's Guilherme Marquez. But to his dismay, Guilherme Marquez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. 35 minutes into the match, Ponte de Safena's goal looked a bit too open when Guilherme Marquez came free, but Luís Gustavo Fernandes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Andrézinho Mota could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Luís Gustavo Fernandes made a huge save. In the 37th minute Célio Eger suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. After 37 minutes, Luís Fábio Damião mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ponte de Safena and the Superação players grew even worse after the yellow card. Superação's Dênis Tepedino was substituted for Célio Eger. After 38 played minutes Ponte de Safena got a freekick which was hit by Luís Fábio Damião. A collision led to Superação getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Guto de Barros hit a great ball. Andrézinho Mota's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 46thth minute, Luís Gustavo Fernandes skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal.

The wind increased when Andrézinho Mota made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Belmiro Dracena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ponte de Safena's supporters crossed their fingers, but Belmiro Dracena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some careless play in the Superação defense, Pedro Luís Moreira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kiko Marinho. The Superação fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kiko Marinho should have stopped the shot. Luís Gustavo Fernandes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrézinho Mota in the 72nd minute of the match. A nice corner shot did that Miguel Ferreira got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Luís Gustavo Fernandes quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Belmiro Dracena did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 3-4 to the left of a surprised Kiko Marinho 79 minutes into the match. Kiko Marinho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rubens Carneiro in the 83rd minute. 85 minutes into the game, Belmiro Dracena recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Kiko Marinho. Belmiro Dracena showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-5. 88 minutes into the match, Ponte de Safena's goal looked a bit too open when Andrézinho Mota came free, but Luís Gustavo Fernandes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ponte de Safena's Luís Gustavo Fernandes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrézinho Mota in the 89th minute of play. Luís Gustavo Fernandes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrézinho Mota, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. 93 minutes into the match, Superação's goal looked a bit too open when Belmiro Dracena came free, but Kiko Marinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 95th match minute, Superação was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristóvão Moreira to maneuver through the defense. When the match was over Ponte de Safena could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Superação throughout the match.
