In the 23rd minute of the match, Donny Neira tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Morjan Al Sayer saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clóvis Toscano in the 33rd minute of play forced Rio das Ostras FC's goalkeeper Artur Tinoco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Morjan Al Sayer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Christer Palmkvist's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. If Christer Palmkvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Christer Palmkvist's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Morjan Al Sayer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

A collision led to E.C TAUBATÉ getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Ezequiel Marz hit a great ball. After 58 played minutes Rio das Ostras FC got a freekick which was hit by Guga Macedo. Napoleon Frodyma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Artur Tinoco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rio das Ostras FC's Artur Tinoco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clóvis Toscano in the 60th minute of play. Napoleon Frodyma kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Clóvis Toscano managed to get in a good position for a shot. E.C TAUBATÉ's supporters rose to their feet, but Clóvis Toscano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Artur Tinoco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Clóvis Toscano got free with Artur Tinoco in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Christer Palmkvist in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Morjan Al Sayer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ezequiel Marz received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Artur Tinoco came out and tried to block the shot, but Ezequiel Marz slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 87th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Christer Palmkvist in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Morjan Al Sayer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Morjan Al Sayer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donny Neira in the 95th minute of play. The E.C TAUBATÉ supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing E.C TAUBATÉ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
