Shen Yi Yuan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilvan Porto in the 20th minute of play. Urtsin Azcarate received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Vivaldo Carvalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jorg Pieters scored 2-0 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vivaldo Carvalho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Urtsin Azcarate might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vivaldo Carvalho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Urtsin Azcarate ran back to his position shaking his head. Jorg Pieters received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Vivaldo Carvalho came out and tried to block the shot, but Jorg Pieters slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 40th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Gilvan Porto made the kick off in the second half. Vivaldo Carvalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Urtsin Azcarate, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 57 minutes of play, Goblins F.C.'s Urtsin Azcarate made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vivaldo Carvalho was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Luiz Paulo Queirós fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored CUIABÁ EC's protests and gave Luiz Paulo Queirós a yellow card for diving instead. In the 60th match minute, CUIABÁ EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Paulo Queirós to maneuver through the defense. CUIABÁ EC's Vivaldo Carvalho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Urtsin Azcarate in the 61st minute of play. Sandrinho Fonseca hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match.
