With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amílton de Barros prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dínamo de Mauá's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MILAN F C the free kick. Amílton de Barros acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 97th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Júlio Albuquerque. The MILAN F C supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing MILAN F C would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
