Juarês Arantes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 6 minutes, Doriva Meirelles made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Santos futebol clube's Juarês Arantes tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Pedro Augusto Saldanha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Zé Vieira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pedro Augusto Saldanha hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. If Doriva Meirelles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Doriva Meirelles in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juarês Arantes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Inazuma Japan booed when Santos futebol clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernandinho Valadares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedro Augusto Saldanha's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 26thth minute, Zé Vieira skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Alan Matorin struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Zé Vieira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Santos futebol clube. Yan Toscano hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. The Inazuma Japan fans' excitement grew in the 38th match minute when Inazuma Japan's Doriva Meirelles looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Abelardo da Fonseca took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Juarês Arantes. Juarês Arantes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. Doriva Meirelles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juarês Arantes having to interfere. After the first half Inazuma Japan were leading 0-6. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When Inazuma Japan's Doriva Meirelles in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Santos futebol clube's goalie prevented a goal. Juarês Arantes came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Inazuma Japan's Cacá Mesquita. But to his dismay, Cacá Mesquita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-7. The Inazuma Japan fans' excitement grew in the 58th match minute when Inazuma Japan's Doriva Meirelles looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-8 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. João Adolfo Fonseca's late challenge caught a Inazuma Japan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. João Adolfo Fonseca helped the player get up and apologised. In the 63rd minute, João Adolfo Fonseca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Juarês Arantes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doriva Meirelles in the 65th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Doriva Meirelles's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Juarês Arantes was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. After having played for 78 minutes, Doriva Meirelles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Inazuma Japan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Doriva Meirelles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 82nd minute, Doriva Meirelles ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Juarês Arantes was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-10. Abelardo da Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juarês Arantes having to interfere. When Egídio da Cunha fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Santos futebol clube's protests and gave Egídio da Cunha a yellow card for diving instead. Egídio da Cunha kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match.
