An unexpectedly hard shot by Laerte Lucas in the 11th minute of play forced Ekzema F.V.'s goalkeeper Ximenez Cayuso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Montevideo's Ronaldo Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vitório Moreno in the 13th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Laerte Lucas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montevideo's supporters rose to their feet, but Laerte Lucas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lisandro Piearres who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 56thth minute tested the skills of Ronaldo Medeiros when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 58 minutes, Luisinho Toscano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ekzema F.V.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Luisinho Toscano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lisandro Piearres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mário Maranhense charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 78th match minute, Montevideo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Norberto Tande to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Ekzema F.V. booed when Montevideo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. When the match clock showed 88 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Fernandão Recife sped through Ekzema F.V.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ximenez Cayuso. After having played for 93 minutes, Lisandro Piearres managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ekzema F.V.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Lisandro Piearres was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Montevideo getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Christian Passos hit a great ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ekzema F.V. players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Montevideo.
