Spectators: 7125 (Terracing: 5345, Seating: 1639, VIP seats: 141) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Vladimiro Beremundo started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the game, Fermin Fidensio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SANTO TOMAS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave BOCA JUNIORS the free kick. In the 3rd match minute, SANTO TOMAS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fermin Fidensio to maneuver through the defense. Zeledon Udalaitz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Angelino Darien showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 4 minute of play. 7 minutes into the match, Angelino Darien notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of SANTO TOMAS's Zeledon Udalaitz. Zeledon Udalaitz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 11th minute, Angelino Darien made a precise shot to the right of Zeledon Udalaitz. SANTO TOMAS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. When Luiz Gustavo Cardozo fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored BOCA JUNIORS's protests and gave Luiz Gustavo Cardozo a yellow card for diving instead. Luiz Gustavo Cardozo hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 25th minute Vladimiro Beremundo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabio Iratxo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jaime Pio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Angelino Darien recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 39 minutes in the game, Angelino Darien fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Zeledon Udalaitz having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Angelino Darien in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zeledon Udalaitz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 42 minutes of play, BOCA JUNIORS's Jaime Pio made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zeledon Udalaitz was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 46th minute, Angelino Darien got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Jaime Pio made the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes, Ildefonso Indar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the BOCA JUNIORS and the SANTO TOMAS players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ildefonso Indar kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. 54 minutes into the match, SANTO TOMAS's Daniel Sal broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Bernardo Matteo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 64th match minute, BOCA JUNIORS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Justino Rafel to maneuver through the defense. Javier Fonda charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Javier Fonda the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of BOCA JUNIORS booed when SANTO TOMAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Javier Fonda didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angelino Darien in the 70th minute of play forced SANTO TOMAS's goalkeeper Zeledon Udalaitz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zeledon Udalaitz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Pio in the 71st minute of the match. When Angelino Darien came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the BOCA JUNIORS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Angelino Darien couldn't finish the play. Jaime Pio might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zeledon Udalaitz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jaime Pio ran back to his position shaking his head. Zeledon Udalaitz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Pio in the 79th minute of the match. In the 81st minute, Angelino Darien left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The BOCA JUNIORS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. After a defensive mix-up in SANTO TOMAS's zone, Angelino Darien stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zeledon Udalaitz came out of the goal and Angelino Darien tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 93 minutes into the match, BOCA JUNIORS's Angelino Darien sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zeledon Udalaitz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. SANTO TOMAS's Fermin Fidensio got his second yellow card of the match in the 93rd minute. The referee ordered Fermin Fidensio off the ground. Fermin Fidensio kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. BOCA JUNIORS had played much better football throughout.
