The referee showed Tiburcio Rojelio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Zanjón AFC booed when La Novena Borracha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiburcio Rojelio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 8th minute of the match Nunez Rito shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Guillermo Jurdan showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Pastor Nesto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliseo Frutos having to interfere. After 13 minutes, Silverio Nesor mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zanjón AFC and the La Novena Borracha players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 13th minute, Silverio Nesor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pastor Nesto struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Eliseo Frutos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for La Novena Borracha. Aureliano Lixandro's late challenge caught a La Novena Borracha's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Guillermo Jurdan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in La Novena Borracha's zone, Aureliano Lixandro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guillermo Jurdan came out of the goal and Aureliano Lixandro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Pastor Nesto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Pastor Nesto managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Novena Borracha's supporters rose to their feet, but Pastor Nesto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eliseo Frutos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 46th minute, Lisandro Cheche hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aureliano Lixandro to make the kick off. In the 54th match minute, Zanjón AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Augusto Efren to maneuver through the defense. Pastor Nesto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliseo Frutos having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Silverio Nesor got free with Guillermo Jurdan in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 65th minute, Pastor Nesto made a precise shot to the right of Eliseo Frutos. Zanjón AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Pedro Sidoro might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eliseo Frutos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pedro Sidoro ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 76th minute, Nereo Gaitan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. During the 79th minute of the match Tiburcio Rojelio completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Tiburcio Rojelio a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. When the match had been going on for 81 minutes, Zanjón AFC's Nunez Rito got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Guillermo Jurdan. In the 86th minute Aureliano Lixandro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guillermo Jurdan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Pedro Sidoro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91st minute, Aureliano Lixandro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. La Novena Borracha were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Zanjón AFC to leave the ground with a draw.
