Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Andres Cebo started the match with the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Humberto Pueblo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tambillos's supporters rose to their feet, but Humberto Pueblo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Israel Claus breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Tambillos booed when Iguazú was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baltasar Chuan didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 10 in the game by Andres Cebo from a close distance when the talented Israel Claus managed to make a qualified save. Iguazú's players were relieved. Baltasar Chuan's late challenge caught a Tambillos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Baltasar Chuan helped the player get up and apologised. After 13 played minutes Iguazú got a freekick which was hit by Baltasar Chuan. A hard shot 14 in the game by Andres Cebo from a close distance when the talented Israel Claus managed to make a qualified save. Iguazú's players were relieved. If Andres Cebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Federico Ceandro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rene Vistruario's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. When Oscar Jerardo fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Iguazú's protests and gave Oscar Jerardo a yellow card for diving instead. Oscar Jerardo hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. When Tambillos's Andres Cebo in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Iguazú's goalie prevented a goal. With his leg Israel Claus managed to avoid a goal in the 37thth minute, when Tambillos's Andres Cebo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Carlos Gonchan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Israel Claus having to interfere. Oscar Jerardo got his second yellow card in the match during the 43rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. If Benjamin Ceandro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Cosme Jakes made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Iguazú's Rene Vistruario got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Tambillos's supporters rose to their feet, but Humberto Pueblo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Israel Claus breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Andres Cebo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Israel Claus was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. When Benjamin Ceandro came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Tambillos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benjamin Ceandro couldn't finish the play. Cosme Jakes took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Federico Ceandro.
