Nemesio Abechuco struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Bernardo Erramu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gonzalez Catan. 6 minutes into the game, Gonzalez Catan's Leon Salamon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bernardo Erramu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 10th minute of the game. One of Gonzalez Catan:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of G.E.R F.C:s goal. In the 11th minute there was a penalty for G.E.R F.C. Isaias Hitzeder stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Baldomero Oidor. 1-1. Leon Salamon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Erramu having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Gonzalez Catan's Bernardo Erramu threw himself towards the right post 19 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rodrigo Bero, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Leon Salamon might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bernardo Erramu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leon Salamon ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 21st match minute, G.E.R F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Peyo to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Artemio Gonsalve from long distance, 22 minutes into the match, got Bernardo Erramu's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 25th minute, Gonzalez Catan's Nemesio Abechuco dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. Leon Salamon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Bernardo Erramu made a huge save. If Leon Salamon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bernardo Erramu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodrigo Bero in the 47th minute of play. Rodrigo Bero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 49th minute. Bernardo Erramu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rodrigo Bero to make the kick off. After 56 minutes G.E.R F.C's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Artemio Gonsalve who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Gonzalez Catan's Arnulfo Elodio to fire away a dangerous shot which Bernardo Erramu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The audience was convinced that Rodrigo Bero's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bernardo Erramu was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. Baldomero Oidor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gervasio Argenis in the 59th minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, Leon Salamon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bernardo Erramu. G.E.R F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leon Salamon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. In the 68th match minute, G.E.R F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gervasio Argenis to maneuver through the defense. Leon Salamon took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bernardo Erramu. Bernardo Erramu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Bernardo Erramu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodrigo Bero in the 78th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rodrigo Bero in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bernardo Erramu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jonas Gorbea's late challenge caught a Gonzalez Catan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jonas Gorbea helped the player get up and apologised. After 92 played minutes G.E.R F.C got a freekick which was hit by Jonas Gorbea. When Jonas Gorbea was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 95 minutes had been played. Jonas Gorbea kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. In the 97th minute Rodrigo Bero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Erramu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 98 minutes of play G.E.R F.C's Marcelo Peyo was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to G.E.R F.C getting a freekick after 99 minutes play. Marcelo Peyo hit a great ball. If Rodrigo Bero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 100th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gonzalez Catan's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
