Spectators: 7225 (Terracing: 5420, Seating: 1662, VIP seats: 143) Chuchi's Desiderio Rainerio started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. URSS's Freddy Lopez got a good chance for a goal in the 2nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, URSS's Benjamin Cortez got a free kick in the 5th minute. Higinio Hori blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ivan Gomez having to make a save. After having played for 11 minutes, Norberto Tonete managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. URSS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Norberto Tonete was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Freddy Lopez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnaldo Ticho having to interfere. After having played for 14 minutes, Desiderio Rainerio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chuchi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Desiderio Rainerio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 17 minutes into the match, Chuchi's Desiderio Rainerio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ivan Gomez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 25th minute, Freddy Lopez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The URSS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Ivan Gomez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Desiderio Rainerio's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. Arnaldo Ticho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norberto Tonete in the 31st minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Ubaldo Tolino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Desiderio Rainerio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Freddy Lopez in the 43rd minute of play forced Chuchi's goalkeeper Arnaldo Ticho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 44th minute of the game. One of URSS:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Chuchi:s goal. Hilario Giraldo shot the penalty kick right outside the post. After the first half URSS were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Freddy Lopez was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute Desiderio Rainerio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Gomez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ubaldo Tolino charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ubaldo Tolino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 57th match minute, Chuchi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ubaldo Tolino to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Norberto Tonete got free with Arnaldo Ticho in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fidel Bonadona took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ivan Gomez. Ivan Gomez dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. After 67 minutes, Fidel Bonadona mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chuchi and the URSS players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fidel Bonadona kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. If Freddy Lopez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Desiderio Rainerio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Higinio Hori sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of URSS booed when Chuchi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dionisio Tiniebra didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Freddy Lopez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnaldo Ticho was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
