After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Carlos Sein managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pirates's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Sein was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raimundo Maureo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 9th minute Carlos Sein shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raimundo Maureo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute of the match Pirates got a corner. Fabril FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alvaro Vergaray ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Alvaro Vergaray got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Raimundo Maureo quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 12th minute, Carlos Sein left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pirates fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Carlos Sein fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raimundo Maureo having to interfere. In the 19th match minute, Fabril FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicasio Celipe to maneuver through the defense. Gregorio Maidana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Aureliano Cordaro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maximiliano Chabier in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aureliano Cordaro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gregorio Maidana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aureliano Cordaro having to interfere. If Gregorio Maidana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rene Bakar hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vinicio Tancredo in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aureliano Cordaro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gregorio Maidana might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aureliano Cordaro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gregorio Maidana ran back to his position shaking his head. Aureliano Cordaro was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Maximiliano Chabier showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 36 minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Pirates's goal looked a bit too open when Gregorio Maidana came free, but Aureliano Cordaro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aureliano Cordaro made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Maximiliano Chabier sent off a good shot on target. In the 41st match minute, Pirates was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alvaro Vergaray to maneuver through the defense. Gregorio Maidana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Nicasio Celipe came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Fabril FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicasio Celipe couldn't finish the play. 47 minutes into the match, Carlos Sein had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Raimundo Maureo. Fabril FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carlos Sein was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carlos Sein was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Pirates's goal looked a bit too open when Gregorio Maidana came free, but Aureliano Cordaro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Sein in the 57th minute of play forced Fabril FC's goalkeeper Raimundo Maureo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raimundo Maureo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Sein, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. If Gregorio Maidana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pirates's Aureliano Cordaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gregorio Maidana in the 63rd minute of play. If Carlos Sein had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximiliano Chabier in the 80th minute of play forced Pirates's goalkeeper Aureliano Cordaro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pirates's Aureliano Cordaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gregorio Maidana in the 89th minute of play. The Pirates supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Pirates would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
