The referee ignored Yeruá's protests and gave Victor Honesto a yellow card for diving instead. In the 8th minute, Victor Honesto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fabricio Gelmiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fausto Burni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute Fausto Burni shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabricio Gelmiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Guardaparque FC's Isaac Ibañez got control of the ball when Elpidio Bernaldo tried to sneak it across the goal line. A very good chance. 27 minutes into the game, Jonas George was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Yeruá's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guardaparque FC the free kick. After 28 played minutes Yeruá got a freekick which was hit by Jonas George. In the 28th minute of the match Pedro Galsino shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fabricio Gelmiro showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Alvaro Fanuco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Fabricio Gelmiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Isaac Ibañez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Federigo, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Cristian Federigo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fausto Burni to make the kick off.
