Benito Berenguer's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Venancio Jorrin firmly grabbed it by the left post. Jonas Santo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 20thth minute, Venancio Jorrin skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Ciudadela AFC's Venancio Jorrin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaspar Tavio in the 23rd minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cayetano Hever made a kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Ciudadela AFC's zone, Benito Berenguer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Venancio Jorrin came out of the goal and Benito Berenguer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Ciudadela AFC defense, Benito Berenguer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Venancio Jorrin. The Ciudadela AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Venancio Jorrin should have stopped the shot. Hector Lop charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hector Lop the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 62nd minute Vladimiro Hanni shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Venancio Jorrin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Benito Berenguer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of 5 de Octubre de 2008 booed when Ciudadela AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saturnino Diagur didn't get a good kick on the ball.
