Grütly FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rigoberto Abreu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicanor Theobald breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 12 played minutes Cultural got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Loiola. 13 minutes into the game, Apolo Venceslas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cultural's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grütly FC the free kick. Apolo Venceslas hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. A collision led to Cultural getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Ivan Loiola hit a great ball. Edgard Matteo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flavio Oskitz, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Mateo Azibar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Grütly FC's Mateo Azibar got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Flavio Oskitz in the 35th minute of play forced Grütly FC's goalkeeper Edgard Matteo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Flavio Oskitz struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Edgard Matteo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cultural. If Mateo Azibar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Flavio Oskitz made a kick off. After 52 played minutes Cultural got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Loiola. After a defensive mix-up in Cultural's zone, Rigoberto Abreu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicanor Theobald came out of the goal and Rigoberto Abreu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 57 minutes in the game, Rigoberto Abreu fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Nicanor Theobald having to interfere. When Pascual Iaki came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Grütly FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pascual Iaki couldn't finish the play. Apolo Venceslas hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Mateo Azibar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Nicanor Theobald made a huge save. 64 minutes into the match, Grütly FC's goal looked a bit too open when Flavio Oskitz came free, but Edgard Matteo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gustavo Domenec fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgard Matteo having to interfere. Mateo Azibar in the 74thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Nicanor Theobald, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Mateo Azibar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicanor Theobald having to interfere. Nicanor Theobald was a little too slow when Rigoberto Abreu got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 79th minute. The score was now 1-2.
