But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Omar Chan couldn't finish the play. 15 minutes into the match, Melba's goal looked a bit too open when Elvio Beti came free, but Rogelio Jeraldo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st match minute, Niupi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edelmiro Bartuelo to maneuver through the defense. Omar Chan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 74 minutes, Jonas Gau mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Niupi and the Melba players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fulgencio Chucho's late challenge caught a Niupi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fulgencio Chucho helped the player get up and apologised. If Evaristo Beat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elvio Beti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Melba's Rogelio Jeraldo got control of the ball when Elvio Beti tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rogelio Jeraldo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evaristo Beat in the 92nd minute of the match. Omar Chan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Niupi supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Niupi would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
