The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 8 minutes into the match, Bagui Frontera notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Melba's Rogelio Jeraldo. Rogelio Jeraldo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 11 minutes into the game, Backmas C.B.'s Bagui Frontera nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rogelio Jeraldo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Omar Chan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Emilio Silbestre made a huge save. 19 minutes into the match, Melba's goal looked a bit too open when Bagui Frontera came free, but Rogelio Jeraldo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Backmas C.B.'s Emilio Silbestre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edelmiro Honrio in the 21st minute of play. Bagui Frontera recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 26th minute of the match Ruperto Romano shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rogelio Jeraldo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severiano Fidencio in the 28th minute of play forced Melba's goalkeeper Rogelio Jeraldo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 34 minutes, Michael Sjöberg made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. Melba's Rogelio Jeraldo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 40 minutes into the game, Melba's Edelmiro Honrio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Emilio Silbestre made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Severiano Fidencio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rogelio Jeraldo having to interfere. Rogelio Jeraldo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Severiano Fidencio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Backmas C.B. were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 51st minute, Michael Sjöberg made a precise shot to the right of Rogelio Jeraldo. Melba's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-5. Bagui Frontera recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rogelio Jeraldo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Severiano Fidencio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 57th minute, Ruperto Romano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Michael Sjöberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Rogelio Jeraldo made a huge save. In the 64th match minute, Melba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fulgencio Chucho to maneuver through the defense. Backmas C.B.'s Cesar Bizi got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cesar Bizi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rogelio Jeraldo having to interfere. In the 71st minute Omar Chan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilio Silbestre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cesar Bizi in the 73rd minute of play forced Melba's goalkeeper Rogelio Jeraldo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Cesar Bizi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute Omar Chan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilio Silbestre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 83rd minute of the match Fausto Perico shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Emilio Silbestre showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Michael Sjöberg struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Rogelio Jeraldo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Backmas C.B.. Cesar Bizi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Michael Sjöberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th minute Severiano Fidencio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogelio Jeraldo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Backmas C.B. played a much better game than Melba and deserved their victory. The Melba players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
