In the 18th minute, Iker Illan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Iker Illan during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 33 played minutes Yutuyaco got a freekick which was hit by Iker Illan. When Nereo Arias came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Selva AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nereo Arias couldn't finish the play. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Yutuyaco's goalkeeper Manuel Eguen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Manuel Eguen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Egoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

After a rather tough play, Yutuyaco's Fulgencio Balesio got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 54th minute, Severino Edwardo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Severo Ekain struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Blas Remir didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Yutuyaco. Yutuyaco's Manuel Eguen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Egoi in the 58th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcos Osasun in the 66th minute of play forced Selva AFC's goalkeeper Blas Remir to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yutuyaco's Iker Illan got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Selva AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Selva AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
