Felipe Cordeiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Norberto Guillerme in the 12th minute of the match. In the 17th minute Norberto Guillerme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felipe Cordeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in River Plate's zone, Fidel Hechter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Octavio Gergori came out of the goal and Fidel Hechter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 28 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo de Calzada's goal looked a bit too open when Teobaldo Dayam came free, but Felipe Cordeiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. River Plate's Octavio Gergori played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fidel Hechter in the 32nd minute of play. Felipe Cordeiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norberto Guillerme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Norberto Guillerme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th match minute, San Lorenzo de Calzada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Generoso Estebe to maneuver through the defense. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.
