But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Narciso Palban couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Laferrere FC's zone, Edgardo Belasko stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cleto Orlin came out of the goal and Edgardo Belasko tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 6th minute, Silvestre Afonso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cleto Orlin was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 12th match minute, Ampallo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Braulio Xacintu to maneuver through the defense. In the 13th minute Marcial Olando shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaspar Estefan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ampallo FC's Gaspar Estefan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Ampallo FC from getting a goal against them. Lucas Chico scored 1-1 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gaspar Estefan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 21 minutes into the match, Ampallo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rene Iratxo came free, but Gaspar Estefan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rene Iratxo in the 22nd minute of play forced Ampallo FC's goalkeeper Gaspar Estefan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 23 minutes into the game, Silvestre Afonso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ampallo FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Laferrere FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Ampallo FC's Silvestre Afonso got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Ovidio Eguntsenti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Silvestre Afonso took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cleto Orlin. Cleto Orlin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Laferrere FC's Cleto Orlin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvestre Afonso in the 39th minute of play. After the first half Ampallo FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 52nd minute, Edgardo Belasko left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ampallo FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Edgardo Belasko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cleto Orlin having to interfere. If Edgardo Belasko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 79 minutes into the match, Edgardo Belasko had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cleto Orlin. Laferrere FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edgardo Belasko was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. 83 minutes in the game Gonzalo Berto did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Marcial Olando. Edgardo Belasko who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 87thth minute tested the skills of Cleto Orlin when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Cleto Orlin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edgardo Belasko's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 91st minute of the game. One of Ampallo FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Laferrere FC:s goal. When Silvestre Afonso came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Ampallo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Silvestre Afonso couldn't finish the play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Ampallo FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
