After 25 minutes, Toninho Galvão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Potrerillos and the C.A. Talleres players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some careless play in the Potrerillos defense, Esteban Beltxe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Amadeo Santio. Talleres fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. The Potrerillos players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. C.A. Talleres were winning 0-2.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Angelino Vasco got free with Amadeo Santio in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 55 minutes Potrerillos's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Erlingur Haaland who took care of the corner kick. Angelino Vascos short, quick shot in the 57thth minute got Amadeo Santio to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The supporters of C.A. Talleres booed when Potrerillos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alonzo Cordarrol didn't get a good kick on the ball. 63 minutes into the match, Potrerillos's goal looked a bit too open when Esteban Beltxe came free, but Amadeo Santio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Potrerillos manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing C.A. Talleres to win.
