With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jesus Afonso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Baldomero Seber's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jesus Afonso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. In the 65th minute Herminio Firmin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jesus Afonso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maximo Hechter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriel Txomin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jesus Afonso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Herminio Firmin went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 99th minute, Gabriel Txomin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
