When Arnulfo Caetano fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C. A. Velez Sarsfield's protests and gave Arnulfo Caetano a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, C. A. Velez Sarsfield's Arnulfo Caetano got a free kick in the 16th minute. After some careless play in the C. A. Velez Sarsfield defense, Adolfo Perrando kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benny Rutten. The C. A. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adolfo Perrando in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benny Rutten prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Through an outstanding action, after 28 minutes, Robustiano Chorache successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Pedro Izotz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Libertarios Futbol Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Izotz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benny Rutten breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Adolfo Perrando fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The Libertarios Futbol Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Benny Rutten was a little too slow when Paulino Locaio got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 51st minute. The score was now 0-5. Benny Rutten didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Adolfo Perrando went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. Paulino Locaio was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 57th minute. Libertarios Futbol Club's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 59 played minutes Libertarios Futbol Club got a freekick which was hit by Filomeno Oskarbi. Federico Baldovino blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Robustiano Chorache having to make a save. Benny Rutten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adolfo Perrando in the 63rd minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, C. A. Velez Sarsfield's goal looked a bit too open when Adolfo Perrando came free, but Benny Rutten reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
