In the 42nd match minute, Vikingos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eloy Nisio to maneuver through the defense. Platense's Bahadır-Togay O'Brien got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Platense's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vikingos the free kick. When Jørn Bregnhof came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Vikingos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jørn Bregnhof couldn't finish the play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.
